I wasn't with the 84Th very long. My wife and I buried twin girls in PunchBowl in June of "74". A compassionate reassignment got us off the rock. But, I remember Captain Nakahara was my C.O. and I would someday love to know whatever happened to a Steve and Mary Peterson. Memories. They are truly precious.

I was stationed with the 84th at Fort Ord and the great ride on the Eltinge. We had a great crew many whom I have not had contact with since I returned home. I have often wondered what had happened to all of the great guys that made that time more bearable for me. There were two of us that was assigned to the 1st Cav in Anke it seems as though it was in the month of Deco of 65 or Jan of 66. Two of us from Hq co. Ray Mitchell and my self and yes we took those old gasser over that pass many times.

I was not a member of the 84th but enjoyed your web site. The pictures Qui Nhon brought back many memories both good and bad. I was assigned to the 540th Trans Co in 1966. The 540th was a aircraft maintenance unit. I also served a tour with "C" Company 101st Aviation Bn 101st Abn Div in Hue Phu Bia in 1970-71. Thanks again for the memories.
