I am looking to see if anyone knew a John F Mcdermott he was my godfather / uncle . he survived Vietnam and came back and died racing a car. He was in this particular Batallion per his gravestone . He served from 68/69 -71/72. His gravestone reads - SP4 CO 4 84 ENGR CONS BN. He was from NY.

Caught your info searching for leper colonies! Spent some time volunteering for the French nuns with their ambulatory limb construction at the mission outside Qui Nhon. My the time has passed rapidly what memories that place has in my mind. One particular time is when the nuns served us, volunteers, a 7 course meal in appreciation for our help and donations. I've got the pictures, on their seaside veranda.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane, good to know that others shared some pleasant experiences!

looking for anybody who may have known my father dan germovsek. i believed he transfered from the 19th combat engineers to the 84th in late 1970 through june 1971. thanks!

Sometime around the 23rd of June in 1971 while in DaNang we had incoming and one of the guys got hit.
We were assigned by the beach.
I'm wondering if anyone knows who that was and where I can reach him if possible.

trying to determine if my 46th Engr Detachment was once D Co 84th Engrs at Qui Nhon early 1967.
We were in the Phu Tai Valley, Laterite Mountain

Just saying hello, And I loved being an Engineer even though the budget was restrictive in my time. I also had an Uncle in the Engineers before me. Been a good career over the years taking skills I learned and using outside Army. Recommend Engineers to anyone. Smile
